Exciting news is on the horizon for Oracle APEX enthusiasts as version 23.2 is rolled out with a host of incredible features, and one highlight steals the show—GraphQL integration. But that’s not all! In this post, we’ll explore how you can take your Oracle APEX experience to new heights by leveraging the exceptional hosting services provided by Revion.com.

1. Introducing GraphQL Integration:

Oracle APEX 23.2 marks a significant milestone with the integration of GraphQL, a query language for APIs that offers a more efficient, powerful, and flexible alternative to traditional REST APIs. Now, developers can leverage GraphQL to precisely request the data they need, reducing over-fetching and under-fetching of data.

2. Enhanced Interactive Grids:

Interactive Grids receive a facelift in this release, offering improved customization options and a more seamless user experience. With better control over column and row features, developers can craft dynamic and responsive grids that cater to their application’s unique requirements.

3. Low Code, High Impact:

Oracle APEX has always been synonymous with low-code development, and version 23.2 takes it up a notch. The platform now offers an even more intuitive interface, empowering users to build robust applications with minimal coding efforts. From drag-and-drop components to declarative features, creating sophisticated applications has never been more straightforward.

4. RESTful Web Services Simplified:

Managing RESTful Web Services is now a breeze with the enhancements in APEX 23.2. The platform streamlines the process, making it easier for developers to create and consume RESTful services seamlessly. This improvement ensures a more efficient and secure communication channel for applications.

5. Improved Charting Options:

Data visualization is paramount, and Oracle APEX 23.2 understands the importance of compelling charts and graphs. With additional chart types and customization options, developers can convey data insights more effectively, enhancing the overall visual appeal of their applications.

6. Accessibility at the Core:

Accessibility is not an afterthought in Oracle APEX 23.2—it’s a core principle. The release emphasizes creating applications that are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. This commitment to inclusivity ensures that APEX applications can be used by a diverse audience without barriers.

Email deliverability is crucial for successful communication and marketing campaigns. To ensure your emails reach their intended recipients, it’s important to implement best practices and leverage reliable hosting solutions. In this blog post, we will explore how you can achieve the best email deliverability with the help of Revion.com hosting. We will also provide examples of DNS records for SPF and DKIM authentication, essential for enhancing deliverability and establishing your domain’s reputation.

How to improve email deliverability?

  1. Select a Reliable Email Service Provider (ESP):

    • Choose a reputable ESP like Revion.com hosting that specializes in email delivery.
    • Revion.com hosting offers robust email infrastructure and features that prioritize deliverability.
  2. Authenticate Your Email:

    • Implement authentication protocols such as SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail).
    • SPF validates that emails from your domain are sent from authorized servers.
    • DKIM adds a digital signature to your emails, verifying their authenticity and integrity.

Example DNS Records for SPF and DKIM:

    • SPF Record: v=spf1 include:spf.revion.com ~all
    • DKIM Record: Add the provided DKIM key as a TXT record in your domain’s DNS settings.
    • Sending email from  APEX application using domain: example.com with APEX mail relay ip 192.168.2.1 and mail server ip then the record would be: “v=spf1 ip4:192.168.1.1/32 ip4:192.168.2.1/32 -all”
  3. Maintain a Good Sender Reputation:

    • Build a positive sender reputation by sending relevant and engaging content.
    • Regularly monitor and manage your email list, removing inactive or bouncing addresses.
    • Honor unsubscribe requests promptly to maintain good sender practices.
  4. Implement Double Opt-In:

    • Use double opt-in to ensure that subscribers explicitly confirm their email addresses.
    • This helps reduce the likelihood of spam complaints and improves deliverability.
  5. Monitor Email Delivery Metrics:

    • Keep track of bounce rates, open rates, and spam complaints to identify potential issues.
    • Revion.com hosting provides detailed email delivery reports and analytics for better insights.

How to Export Data using SQL Developer. This is a repost from Oracle blog, how to export data from SQL Developer. Ref: How to Export Data using SQL Developer

SQL Developer provides the ability to export user data to a variety of formats: CSV, XML, LOADER, TEXT, INSERT, HTML and XLS.

    1. In order to export the data from a table you can either use the SQL Worksheet and write a SQL query to retrieve the required data or you can Click on the Data tab of a table definition. We’ll use this latter approach.

Expand the Connections Navigator and the Tables node.

Click on DEPARTMENTS.

Select the Data tab.

Exporting Data

2. Right-click anywhere on the data to invoke the context menu.

Select insert from the Export Data context menu. This will produce a file of insert statements.

3. Choose an appropriate directory and name for the file.

You can also fine tune what is exported by selecting the columns and adding a where clause to reduce the number of records returned. In this example, we’ll take the default of all the records and columns.

  1. Click Apply to create the file.
  2. To review the file created, click the Open Folder icon  . Select the new file DEPARTMENTS.sql from your file directory. The sql file will open into a SQL Worksheet.

4. Exporting Object Definitions

SQL Developer provides the ability to export some or all of your object definitions to script files. You can use these as a backup of the object definitions or run them in another schema. In this exercise, you export all the object definitions and the data for the Departments table.

  1. Using the main menu, select Tools->Database Export.
  1. An Export wizard will open. At the top of the screen, enter a directory and file name. e.g. C:\Working\exportDept.sql. and select the Connection.
    1. Set the DDL Options for this Export. e.g. check Include Drop Statement.

Click Next.

  1. In this step, you can slect what Object Types to export. We will take the default for all object types.

    Click Next.

  1. In this step, you can specify the objects to export. Instead of querying all objects by immediately selecting Go, you can enter a restriction criteria. Enter D% and then click Go.
  1. You can restrict the list of choices further by using the drop list on the right.. Select Table from the list of object types.

Click Go. The list now displays tables that start with “D”.

    1. Select the table Departments and shuttle to the right hand panel.

Click Next.

    1. In this step, you can specify the data that gets exported. Click Go and a list of tables will be listed. Shuttle Departments to the right hand panel..

Click Next.

  1. In this final step, you can review your Export Summary.

    Click Finish.

  1. To review the file created, go to the main menu and select View-> Files to open the Files Navigator tab. Select the new file exportDept.sql from your file directory. The sql file will open into a SQL Worksheet.

We have spent a lot of time learning about the unique challenges of two-year colleges, and we are looking forward to building the next iteration of the College Inbound content management system.”

Medford will provide support during the transition and will continue to serve College Inbound in a consulting capacity. Clients can expect introduction calls to begin taking place in the coming weeks.
